Entrepreneur and AI/ML Engineer in Washington DC

Listen to my podcast

Hi, I’m Elena - an AI engineer turned founder based in the Washington, DC area.

My work sits at the intersection of technology, business, and problem-solving. I’m especially interested in how AI can simplify complex work, create better systems, and give people more time for the decisions that truly require human judgment. Building a company has become a major part of my life, and I enjoy sharing the lessons, challenges, ideas, and small wins that come with the founder journey.

Balance, discipline, and presence are the values that matter most to me. I believe meaningful work requires ambition, but it also requires knowing when to slow down, step away, and reconnect with yourself.

Outside of work, my happy place is usually somewhere in the mountains. In winter, you’ll find me skiing, and during the warmer months, I’m usually hiking, exploring a new trail, or planning the next outdoor adventure. Skiing and hiking continually teach me to embrace challenges, stay persistent, and keep moving even when the path feels difficult. Time outdoors helps me feel grounded, mentally clear, and connected to something larger than the routines of everyday life.

I also love ice skating, traveling to new places, discovering different cultures, and finding memorable food along the way. For me, travel is not only about seeing somewhere new, it is about changing perspective, becoming more curious, and collecting experiences that stay with you long after the trip ends.

Most importantly, family is everything. Being fully present with my husband and children, traveling together, visiting parks, attending festivals, and enjoying ordinary moments is how I recharge and stay connected to what matters most. Some of the best memories are not carefully planned, they happen during simple days spent together.

This corner of the internet reflects the different parts of my life: technology, startup building, travel, outdoor adventures, thoughtful reflections, family moments, and good food. It is where I share what I’m building, what I’m learning, what challenges me, and what inspires me.

These values shape who I am, and who I am shapes everything I do.
