Elhaq Latief
I was born in Jakarta, October 27 1995. I’m 18 years old. I moved to Melbourne when I was 11 years old, but then I moved back to Jakarta in 2010.
Performing never gets old for me. For this reason, I have involved myself in as many events and productions as possible, both in and out of the school. I have just recently finished the performance in Joseph and The Amazaing Technicolor Dreamcoat as Joseph with an expat theatre group outside the school called Jakarta Players. Jakarta Players has also trusted me to play the character of Lamar in Godspell The Musical.
Having an 'Artsy' environmet at school gives me chill and freedom to express my feelings through performing. Last year's school musical/productionl, I was offered the role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables School Edition and Ande Lumut in Ande and Kuning.
I have done performances such as Romeo and Juliet as Romeo, Grease as Danny Zuko and in Zombie Prom as the ensemble. I was involved in the School choir, Band Competition as the vocalist (2nd place), Solo Singing Competition (1st place), News Broadcasting competition (1st place), Performing in my school’s Open Day, Christmas Celebration, Graduation Day and Global Jaya International School Art Festival.
I’ve performed The Nutcracker as corps de ballet for my ballet school which is Sumber Cipta Ballet School. In addition, I’m also part of the Swing Dance club at school. Other than Ballet and Swing dance, I have also done some contemporary dance.
I have also participated in piano recitals in Jakarta and Melbourne in Melbourne University. I have also awarded as the best student in my vocal class and the best participant in Sundanese Choir. Through being involved in Jakarta Players, I learned about maintaning the professionalism.
