Elia Singer
To date, Elia Singer has made fourteen short films in a variety of genres including documentary, experimental and experimental narrative, which have screened in numerous national and international film festivals. She graduated with an MFA in film and video production from York University, Toronto after completing part of her degree at Columbia College Chicago. Elia has worked on numerous commissioned projects for artists including the activist teachings of renowned performance artist Guillermo Gomez-Pena and Kirk Read the extraordinaire performance artist and author of How I Learned to Snap. She recently finished a promotional video for the LGBT Centre in San Francisco and a twenty-five minute educational DVD, which helps, parents address the complex needs of premature babies. She also recently completed producing, directing and editing 24 videos (117 minutes) for web based teachings on depression care and treatment at University of California San Francisco: School of Nursing. Elia has sat on a number of juries and participated in film festival programming in the Toronto film communities. Recently, Elia has been living, teaching and movie making in the San Francisco area.
