Growing up, I was consumed with all thing’s basketball. I started playing at age 4 and have been invested ever since. My dad was 6’4 so a lot of people had high hopes for me. Of course, I was not about to let them down. My dad, being my biggest supporter, enrolled me in endless training camps and paid for countless trainers, (I even got to work with Anthony Edward’s trainer). My hard work paid off. I was not only good, I excelled at basketball, and it was something that I wanted to keep doing. That is until I got to high school. Even though my 6’4 dad produced me, I became a 5’8 junior in high school. Reality really came in when I didn’t make the basketball team that same year too. I realized that even though I loved the game, I had to let it go. I talked to my dad about it, and he told me, “Sometimes you have to let go of the things you love most to be successful.” I kept thinking about what my dad said during the rest of my junior year. I focused more and more on school and improved my grades. I also talked to my HOSA teacher about my situation, and she insisted that I should look into Sports Medicine and that’s what I did. When Senior year came around, I was doing the best in my classes than I had in a while. I decided to stay in Georgia and attend the University of Georgia, hoping to become a Sports Medicine Physician.
