Bonjour! Je parle nativement English et Française.
My interests include: compostion (both of the literary and musical sort), dance, art, acting, identity politics, biology, history, and the list goes on as long as I'm learning something.
What I’m reading: The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux, The Literary Lives of the Inklings by the Zaleskis, and Lucrezia Borgia by Sarah Bradford.
What I just finished:Vincent and Theo: The Van Gogh Brothersby Deborah Heiligman andQueer There and Everywhere: 23 People Who Changed the Worldby Sarah Prager. (Fun fact: Abraham Lincoln dated some men.)
+ Favorites +
Authors: As I’ve once said, if no one else mattered in the world, Isabelle Allende still would. Antoine de Saint-Exupery is the other god who created one of the most influential novels of my life.
Poets: If I told you Catullus, I would be lying. He’s a mess. T.S. Eliot and Charles Baudelaire are both wonderful, but personally I enjoy creating my own poetry the most, or reading that of my friends.
I take it back. Walt Whitman.
Musicians: Arcangelo Correli (the Baroque father of the concerto grosso), Stromae, and Sufjan Stevens. That being said, my favorite song is probably still Killer Queen and 80s anything is a siren song to my ears.
Artists: We love a good Kandinsky around here. Matisse, Rosseau, De Vinci, Kahlo, ‘til death we do art!
Animals: Whorl-tooth shark/helicoprion. I’m fond of most creatures, down to the smallest beetle or awkwardest crawfish. (I have a vow of non-violence against every animal, including mosquitoes.)
