Elisabeth Gruner
As a teacher, a reader, and a writer, my main goal is always discovery. What new thing can I learn today? My particular interests in children's literature and fantasy have to do with the quality of wonder and delight that I have found in them; while my courses are always analytical, I hope always to highlight those qualities in my students' reading experience as well. I review manuscripts for professional journals in my field, I write scholarly and non-scholarly articles, I edit other writers' work, and I am a member of a variety of scholarly and professional organizations. I have served on the Book Award committee of the Children's Literature Association, an honor which carries with it the responsibility of reading most of the scholarly books in the field published in the last year.
