Elisabeth Anumu
Currently completing her residency in Family Medicine and expected to graduate from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, Elisabeth Anumu has rotated in a number of specialties in her medical education, ranging from internal medicine to pediatric, gynecology, obstetrics, dermatology, orthopedics, surgery. During her residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, Elisabeth Anumu has taken elective rotations in orthopedics at Rockford Spine Center, which handles adult and pediatric spinal surgeries, and in women’s health at the Crusader Community Health in Rockford. She attended the 2010 National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students in Kansas City, Missouri. She holds membership in the organization that hosted the conference, the American Academy of Family Physicians. During her residency, Elisabeth Anumu has delivered presentations on acute gastroenteritis and fourth-degree perineal laceration in obstetrics and gynecology. She also has given PowerPoint presentations on the subjects of acute coronary syndrome and diabetes mellitus. The latter presentation occurred at SwedishAmerican Hospital, a 100-year-old teaching institution affiliated with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford’s residency program. Elisabeth Anumu’s professional affiliations include memberships in the university’s Family Recruitment Committee and the Adult Medical Committee at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Among her proficiencies and skills, Elisabeth Anumu has passed the first and second United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE) in clinical skills and knowledge. She has her certification as a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), and holds Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association. Elisabeth Anumu received her undergraduate and early medical training at the University of Ulm in Germany. She had a one-year internship at the Klinik am Eichert in Goppingen, with training in general surgery, emergency medicine, anaesthesiology, and internal medicine, before receiving her certification to study in the U.S. from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 2006. She had a volunteer externship for two years with the Magnolia Medical Clinic in the Atlanta, Georgia region before starting her residency at UIC Rockford.
