I've always had a passion for offbeat and controversial documentary subjects. My new film Sweetheart Deal (w/Gabriel Miller) represents the culmination of a 20-plus year fascination with story-driven docs about people living on the margins of society.
I was researcher and asst. editor on the 2007 doc Zoo, about a network of zoophiles in rural Washington State. The film went on to critical acclaim, playing Sundance and Cannes. My husband and I made Waiting for NESARA, a documentary about a messianic group of excommunicated Mormons, and the radical faith that bound them together in the wake of 9/11. The film played fests around the world and is part of the curriculum on cults and religions in several educational institutions.
