In the Author's Words:

Although this is my first Poetry book, I’ve been writing poetry for many years. I lived in a project of San Francisco called Hunter’s Point, located in an area called Bayview, until the age of four. My family and I moved to another project not five minutes away still in the Bayview area called Alice Griffith Garden Homes and that’s where I grew up. Although remodeled that is still where I reside today. My passion for writing is to be able to help someone along the way as they travel this road of life with its ups and downs. I was diagnosed with a learning disability called dyslexia at the age of five, and because society did not understand how to treat it at that time it made learning difficult for me. I was treated in school as if I were retarded. Writing became my best friend. It was a way to express myself. Many suffer from this illness including a past president (Woodrow Wilson) but through knowledge and perseverance we have overcome the label and are now recognized as equal. I too have seen the ups and downs that life can bring and I’ve learned that’s just a part of living. Now my life is changed from life’s temptation to God’s inspiration.
