Elissa Field
Elissa Field writes in South Florida, where she lives with two mad scientists, ages 7 and 10. She has previously lived in Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia, with familial ties in Connecticut, and has studied and traveled abroad.
Elissa’s writing practice includes fiction and nonfiction. She is at work researching one novel and polishing another, as well as short stories. Short stories have appeared in national publications. Nonfiction freelance work has included a range of day-writing, PR/marketing, business and legal writing, and serving as writer and editor for institutional publications. In a long, and well-loved stint, she served as a writer and trainer, working behind the scenes in judges' offices in the court system. At various times, she also tinkered as a rare/first edition book trader.
Also certified as an English & History teacher, Elissa currently teaches writing at a fabulous private school.
