Eliza D Suppal
San Fransisco Bay Area
Hi there! My name is Eliza and I am a recent 2014 UC Berkeley graduate that often finds myself in conversation about the American political process, the intersection between the tech and legal industries and Patriots football.
Currently, I prepare and file U.S. work visa (H-1B, L-1, J-1, TN, E-3 and EAD) petitions and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFE) petitions for Fortune 100 companies, primarily in the tech industry as a Corporate Immigration Paralegal at Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP's San Francisco office.
I cultivated much of my professional skill set at UC Berkeley, where I centered myself around student affairs, first serving as a Resident Assistant for 70 first-year and transfer students and subsequently overseeing resident and Resident Assistant leadership development and program planning (including taking 100+ students on bus trips across CA) in the halls as a Program Assistant. In these roles, I learned how to react with appropriate urgency to situations and take effective action, sometimes without knowing the entire situation.
As an avid user of social media, I view social media not only as a outlet to share the swanky Millennial lifestyle, but also as a platform to connect and organize grassroots social action, mutual aid, and community engagement. Our online community is becoming today's 17th and 18th century French Salon-- we should give credence to our new public sphere!
I solidified my passion and belief that social media can be used for more than an #ootd post while serving as the American Red Cross's first Social Engagement Intern at their Washington, D.C. National Headquarters' Digital Disaster Operation Center.
I enjoy meeting new people with shared and differing perspectives. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] or better yet, follow me on Twitter at @elizasuppal to learn more about my #ootd and my Indian-American worldview.
