I am a jewelry designer/creator and I love what I'm doing. I just have the most fun looking at jewelry making materials, gemstones, glass beads, metal beads. They speak to me and show me what to do...the materials are my muse. I've had my business going at a very low level for about a year-I wanted to make sure this would work and that I had enough to work with. I'm there now, ready and waiting to take off. This is my latest career in fairly long line. Started working at a magazine and creating wardrobe for some rock-n-roll bands at 15. As an artist I have had to do my time in the real world in business management and my own bookkeeping business. My heart has always been in the more creative fields. Through the years I have done costume design for a few different rock-n-rollers, a little bit of dress designing, even doing custom knit & crochet work for people and a couple of dogs (that was fun). During a brief stint in Las Vegas, I did costume creation for some entertainers on the strip. I always loved doing interior design for people who have let me go outside the box. I had quite a bit of fin doing what I call furniture reassignment. Take an outdated Scandinavian blond bedroom set and giving it an updated look with what appears to be black wood with copper gaining, or a set with 1" oak strips and turn it into a weathered Parisian flea market piece. One of my favorite jobs was creating a family fun room by using a material with a playful primitive design. It was used not just for covering the chair, sofa cushions and throw pillows, but to hand paint the animals, trees and the Jack & Queen of hearts onto several pieces of furniture. The whole family loved their new room. Just prior to that I went a very different route and opened two restaurants in San Francisco. I credit myself with being the originator of the Gourmet Ghetto on Valencia Street. I opened my second place there serving Caribbean food. I love to visit the area and enjoy the fruits of my fearlessness-there was nothing going on around there when I opened up, but something told me that this was the place to be. And now most of my time is spent creating things to adorn and enhance any age or style woman. Oh yeah, some men as well. When I can. I love to go to a concert or a play in a black box theater. I like supporting local businesses of all kinds rather than chains. I'm still in love with living in San Francisco after all these years.
