Executive Director, Nonprofit, and Parkinsons disease in Brooklyn, New York
Hello, I’m Elizabeth "Eli" Pollard. I'm the Executive Director at the World Parkinson Coalition, a nonprofit organization that serves the community of people living with, researching, and treating Parkinson's disease.
I helped launch the Coalition alongside world renowned Parkinsonologist, Dr. Stanley Fahn, in 2004 and am thrilled with the work we've done serving the community ever since. WPC helped inspire the PD advocacy community at the WPC 2006, watching all the major PD orgs create their first patient advisory boards after the WPC 2006 ended. It was at that time that we saw researchers engage with people with Parkinson's and start to realize the value of having PwPs at the table with them as they planned their research projects. People with Parkinson's need a seat at the table to help expedite the Parkinson's research agenda and help us find better treatments and ultimately, a cure.
Read the WPC blog to learn more about us and to be inspired by our community members who are getting us closer to a cure every day with their amazing work and dedication.
I live in Brooklyn, New York, with my husband, two kids, two cats.
