Elizabeth Santos
Pharmacist, Professor, and Researcher in Natal, Brasil
Hi,
I am Elizabeth Santos. I am a Clinical Analyst Pharmacist, Master's degree in Microbiology from Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and I possess a doctoral degree in Health Sciences from Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). I was born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
I currently work as a Pharmacist in the CAPSad and Research Collaborator at the Imunoparasitology laboratory of the Department of Clinical and Toxicological Analysis/UFRN. I am also a professor at FANEC/Natal where I teach basic microbiology, clinical microbiology and microbiological quality control of pharmaceutical products.
I am developing my research in the area of microbiology which aims to evaluate antimicrobial activity of bioactives compounds obtained from plants, animals, bacterias, among others, and to determine its mechanisms of action and to study the virulence factors involved in bacterial resistance.
In my free time, I like to be with my family and friends. I especially like nature, plants and animals, in particular birds. I also enjoy the beach, and to walk and listen to music. Sometimes, as therapy, I do knitting.
