Elizabeth Obiazi
Student, Researcher, and Aquaculrist in Lagos
I’m Obiazi Elizabeth Temitope, an Agriculture graduate of Fisheries and Aquaculture and an aspiring researcher with a growing passion for Fisheries, Aquaculture, food quality, value addition and sustainable food systems.
My journey has taken me through studying Fisheries and Aquaculture to exploring the science behind fish production, processing, nutrition, safety, value addition and quality. I enjoy learning about how research can move beyond academic papers and become something that genuinely improves people's lives.
My Academic Journey
I hold a B.Fisheries and Aquaculture from the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management, Osun State University, where I developed a strong foundation in agriculture, fisheries, aquatic resources, value addition and food production.
I am currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Fisheries at Joseph Sawuan Tarka University, Makurdi, further developing my skills in scientific research, data interpretation, fish processing, and value addition.
For me, education isn't just about collecting certificates. It's about becoming better at asking questions, finding answers, and using knowledge to create meaningful solutions.
Research and Professional Interest
My interests sit at the intersection of fisheries, value addition, food science, nutrition, and sustainable aquaculture.
I am particularly interested in:
- Fish processing, preservation, and value addition
- Fish nutrition and quality assessment
- Food safety and microbiology
- Fatty acid and amino acid profiling
- Aquaculture and sustainable fish production
- Agricultural research and innovation
- Turning research findings into practical solutions
I am especially fascinated by the possibilities that exist when science meets agriculture and entrepreneurship.
Beyond the Classroom
My experience has exposed me to different sides of agriculture, from crop and animal production to fisheries, fish processing, farm operations, and research.
I have also gained experience working in different professional environments, which has taught me something I value deeply: there is always something new to learn from every person, workplace, and experience.
A Little More About Me
Beyond academics and research, I’m someone who enjoys creativity, meaningful conversations, personal growth, good experiences, and building ideas from scratch.
I have an entrepreneurial side and enjoy exploring opportunities around agriculture, food, and value-added products. I believe there is beauty in taking something ordinary and creating something valuable from it.
I am also a lover of simple things like; peaceful environments, beautiful places, good food, thoughtful gestures, and moments that make life feel a little more intentional.
My Goal
I am on a journey of becoming a woman who combines knowledge, purpose, creativity, and impact.
My goal is not simply to have a successful career, but to build a body of work that I can be proud of, through research, innovation, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning.
I am always open to meeting interesting people, learning something new, collaborating on meaningful projects, and having conversations that challenge the way I think.
Still learning. Still growing. Still becoming.🌱
