I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Sociology with concentrations in Political Economy and Environmental Sociology. My research primarily focuses on corporate political strategies and activities within environmental politics and informs discussions about barriers to sustainability. I am also a qualitative researcher with experience in web-based social research, field research, and thematic analyses.
I enjoy non-fiction, photography, gardening, playing guitar and ukulele, family and friends, and being with and around people in general. I am an avid bluegrass and Americana music fan and take advantage of Knoxville’s active music scene whenever I am able. In addition to my academic work, I am also an organizer and participant in local feminist praxis and environmental organizations. This connection to community and movements guides my research, teaching, and desire to actualize a different world.
