Hello, I’m Elizabeth. I grew up by the ocean in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. I moved out to Toronto four years ago simply because I loved the city. After working for a year, I ended up going to Ryerson University, where I am currently a student.

The first winter I lived here, I got laid off of a job and decided to use it as an opportunity to teach myself something new. I taught myself to knit and I now can’t imagine a time where I didn’t have this hobby. I find it very therapeutic and rewarding to envision a project and to watch it come alive with my own hands. Some of the things I enjoy about knitting are that it requires a lot of patience and it involves my least favourite thing, math. I think that challenging myself with these aspects is good for me.

A few years ago, I was approached to write a book about a serial killer named Clifford Olson. Although I was never very interested in true crime, I decided to do it anyways. I did the research and wrote the book in five months while I went to school full time and worked as well. I hope to write more books when I am finished school. However, I would like to have more time to do my best and I would like them to be about less grisly subjects.

I currently work as a freelance transcriber on different television productions. I also volunteer doing social media for a start up at Ryerson’s Social Venture Zone called Microbehub. Microbehub is a composting initiative that promotes greater sustainability at Ryerson and other schools. I like doing social media for Microbehub because it allows me to share my political and social views to a different audience than my friends.

Aside from writing, other goals include moving to a new country, owning a Springer Spaniel, and developing a career in media.
