As owner of Kaleva Law Offices in Missoula, Montana, Elizabeth Kaleva draws on more than two decades of practice experience. She began her career as a law clerk for Judge Thomas Honzel, at the time chief judge of the First Judicial District of Lewis and Clark County, Missouri. Elizabeth Kaleva then turned her focus to education law when she became general counsel and director of policy services for the Montana School Boards Association.
While serving in this role, Elizabeth Kaleva advised districts across the state on employment issues and legal requirements of nonprofit organizations. She also offered insight on a broad range of regulations related to school operations, including civil rights law and issues related to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Elizabeth Kaleva served the Montana School Boards Association until the fall of 2004, when she opened her own private practice. Since that time, she has represented school districts as well as other public and private organizations in matters pertaining to employment and education law.
Recognized as a Best Lawyer in America and Best Lawyer in Montana for employment and education law since 2015, Ms. Kaleva was also named Lawyer of the Year for the Missoula area in 2015. She recently received inclusion in U.S. News and World Report's Best Law Firms roster for 2018.
