Elizabeth Klarich

For over 35 years, I have taught yoga in a wide variety of venues and ultimately expanded my instruction beyond my traditional training. Trained at The Institute for Yoga Teacher Education in San Francisco (now the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco) and having studied all styles of yoga since, I bring an individualized approach to each class and every student.

I draw from a broad Hatha yoga background to focus equally on flexibility, strength, balance, stamina and concentration. Influenced by Kriya and Kundalini yoga, I aim to offer an energetic and invigorating approach to my students.

Through the years, I have expanded my practice and classes beyond my traditional training. I integrate physical postures, breathing techniques, affirmations, and relaxation meditation into every class. My approach to teaching the alignment and techniques for doing physical exercises takes each person into account, adapting the class to a variety of different levels. I offer modifications for each exercise to accommodate various limitations, injuries, aches, pains, stress points, and aggravations. In this way, I take a therapeutic approach to heal and break through blockages. I also offer modifications for enhancing a more challenging experience for those who want and need a greater degree of difficulty.

Inspired by some of yoga’s most influential teachers, I have developed an ability to teach intuitively. I begin each class with a feeling of enthusiasm as if it was my first, gratitude as if it were my last, and passion for the opportunity to share.
