Liz is an award-shortlisted writer and editor with five years of accumulated experience across print, digital, and social media. She currently works as a full-time Brand Marketing Manager for the Philippines-based boutique creative agency Lit Digital Inc. She is also an independent reporter writing about the intersections of culture and politics in the Philippines. Her work has appeared in Philippine Star, Rappler, Art+ Magazine, and gal-dem, among others. She has previously served as an Associate Editor for CNN Philippines Life. In 2021, she was shortlisted for the Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prizes in Art Criticism at the Ateneo Art Awards.
Outside of work, she spends her time on creative pursuits as a widely-published poet, essayist, and literary editor. She has served as a Senior Editor at a Singapore-based arts organization, an editorial staff for Filipino feminist collective Gantala Press, and has produced her own publications such as the now-defunct pan-Asian journal The Brown Orient and the feminist poetry anthology RECLAIM. In 2019, she was nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
She has also previously dedicated her time and skills to volunteer work for groups such as the Youth for Mental Health Coalition as its Social Media Head, and Lunas Collective as a Chat Respondent for victims of gender-based violence. A staunch feminist and advocate for the rights of women and queer identities from marginalized sectors, she has earned graduate units in Women and Development from the University of the Philippines Diliman. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from the University of the Philippines Los Banos.
