Former local government solicitor specialising in employment law, forcibly "retired" after being made redundant at 50. Looking at starting over as a researcher, and am intially prepared to work for expenses only with a view to getting into a suitable political think-tank.

Dedicated to cats and horses. Voracious reader and keen student of history and philosophy, and the lessons that can be learned therefrom; retaining an interest in employment law on the basis of what fools our politicians were to sign up for all of this!

I believe in good manners and good English, in always doing one's best, whatever the circumstances, and in being kind. I believe in equality of opportunity which is not the same thing as equality of outcomes, as we all bring different things to the metaphorical table.

UKIP member; and hoping to be active and maybe even a candidate.

Don't like political correctness, cruelty to animals, Social Democrats, no win/no fee lawyers, people with a sense of entitlement - respect has to be earned - and anyone behaving badly.
