I'm Dr. Elizabeth Vance, Senior Lead Auditor and Director of Communications at Vanderhelm Research, a London-headquartered corporate intelligence firm founded in 1965. I lead the methodology review function across our institutional audit programme and am the reviewer of record on every Vanderhelm publication issued in 2026, including our audit of AI bid writing and tender automation platforms in UK public-sector procurement, parallel comparative analyses of the WordPress AI SEO plugin market and the emergent Answer Engine Optimisation category, and our January 2026 strategic audit of directory submission services.

My commentary on the structural compression of the UK bid-writing workforce by AI-native procurement tools has been cited by the Financial Times, The Economist, and the BBC's Tech Tent. Before joining Vanderhelm, I held research fellowships at the Cambridge Centre for the Study of Existential Risk and the Oxford Internet Institute, where my doctoral work examined algorithmic bias in early generative AI retrieval systems. I hold a PhD in Information Systems from Cambridge, an MSc in History and Philosophy of Science from Cambridge, and a BSc in Computer Science from Imperial College London. I'm based in Washington, D.C.
