Elizabeth Silva-Vazquez

I was Born and raised in East Harlem in the Jefferson Projects. When my parents moved there I was just 3 months old in 1958. I moved out when I got married at the age of 23 but still living in harlem up until May of 1991. I was discovered with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) of my lungs in 1998 and I deal with it the best way I can without medicines but I have to say I'm doing pretty well. I think it's because my faith in God and the love of life and wanting to enjoy life to the fullest has helped me so much. When I moved to Rockland County in 1991 and currently still living there but I don't forget where I came from and never forget my old time friends. I try my best to make it to the Jefferson Day gathering every years which is the second Saturday In August. Wow!! It's really awesome to see all the people I grew up with also to be able to talk about the good old times. Thank you all, I love you so dear my friends. May the Lord bless you always <3.
