Ella Smith

My background includes campaigning for Sam Olens for Attorney General and after his election interning in his Communications office curating and writing content for their website. While at Georgia Tech I work in one of the many research labs and support research operations in business development, recruitment, and internal research and development efforts. Additionally, I have worked at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. At the Forum I worked in anti-corruption and supply chain risk and I am fascinated by the inter-connectivity of the two issues. Most recently, I have been charged with managing the social media accounts for a new campus endeavor, Georgia Tech Starter. GaTechStarter is the first university-based peer-reviewed crowdfunding site for science and engineering research. It is our goal to change the way students and staff (and the general public) understand the way that scientific research is funded and carried out. When I am not working or studying, I enjoy exploring Atlanta and traveling in general. Thanks to my internship in Geneva, my more recent travels have been to Rome, Barcelona, Paris, and London. As a student of history and sociology I enjoy seeing the the way life is lived outside of the US. Since international travel is not a norm for college students, I developed other interests that more closely fit my budget. Concerts, awards season, and my two dogs make the stresses of college more bearable.

Looking forward, my goal is to earn a Masters in Business Administration degree to further round out the skills I acquired through my undergraduate degree. I am always seeking opportunities to leverage my skills of time management, organization, leadership, critical thinking, writing and creativity for a dynamic organization that is an industry leader that empowers its employees to contribute to their fullest potential.
