L. Michelle Smith is an award-winning communicator, speaker and leader who thrives at the intersection of culture, technology and business. She is currently a director of public relations for a Fortune 10 tech, telecom and media company.

She has more than 20 years of experience as an integrated marketer, C-Suite media and presentation trainer and strategic communicator at global agencies, her own boutique agency and as a television news journalist.

She is also the creator, producer and host of The Culture Soup Podcast.

She as a member of the Texas Christian University Bob Schieffer College of Strategic Communications Board of Visitors and is a featured alumna in the university’s national ad campaign, TCU Lead On.

Michelle is also a national board member of Opera America and the tech, business and culture contributor to Black Enterprise. She has been named to Brand Innovators Top 100 Women to Watch, a Technology All-Star by Women of Color STEM, a PR Council and PRWeek’s Diversity Distinction Champion—In House finalist and one of the Top 25 Women in Dallas by Rolling Out Magazine.

A Dallas native, Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in English, writing emphasis, and a master of science in media studies from TCU.
