Ellena Cheng

I knew very early in my life that my passion lies within the field of design in one form or another. From creating simple arts and crafts to designing user experiences, this is when I experience the “flow” as described by positive psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi. My interest in technology and my love for designing a creative solution meet at the point of Interaction Design. I was born in Hong Kong and moved to Toronto, Canada when I was six years old. I received my H.BSc from the University of Toronto's Computer Science department, specializing in Human-Computer Interaction and minored in Psychology. I am currently studying in the MDes Interaction Design Program offered by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Design. My experience includes requirements gathering, customer interviews, prototyping, usability tests, card sorting, and other user experience methodologies. I also have experience designing for both web-based and desktop applications. I have been involved in creating a subscription based music download service as well as software applications for medical devices. In my spare time, I like to decorate cakes, watch movies, try new food, and lately became interested in exploring more about Arduino.
