Ellen Kagan
Author/Producer in Mashpee, Massachusetts
Hi, I'm Ellen, the Host/Producer of the podcast, Movin' And Groovin' With Ellen, which covers our crazy politics and the wild world we live in, as well as sports and other interesting stuff that is happening every single day.
Movin' And Groovin' With Ellen has aired for five seasons on all podcast platforms, including BCAT's, (Burlington Cable Access TV) where it is produced, and will soon be aired on youtube as well.
I take a deep dive into our politics, discussing them with humor sometimes; and other times with great sadness. My goal is to show you how you can be engaged so that we can keep our great republic. There is no doubt in my mind that we can succeed if we all stick together and fight for what is right!
Robert Parris, sportwriter extraordinaire at Burlington Cable Access TV, usually joins me to talk about Boston's great teams: the Patriots, the Red Sox and the teams at Burlington High School. (Robert is also my tech expert for the show.)
Robert and I also shmooze and have a blast, talking about all the craziness and insanity all around us.
There have been many interesting guests on Movin' And Groovin' With Ellen: Boston Globe reporter, Scott Lehigh, talking about his new book, East of Nowhere; Stafford Cohen, retired cardiologist of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, who has written five books in his retirement; Jeff Zinn, actor, director and former Artistic Director of the W.H.A.T Theater in Wellfleet, Massachusetts'; Cyndy Cotton, Executive Director, of the Osterville Village Library in Osterville, Massachusetts; and Deborah Kagan, Ellen's talented cousin, who has had a podcast on getting your mojo back; and many more.
Prior to hosting and producing Movin' And Groovin' With Ellen, I hosted and produced Your Health Care:Choice or Chance?, a public access television series from 1994-2014, which aired throughout Massachusetts and taught the public how to navigate our sick health system.
Noted guests included former Massachusetts governor, Michael Dukakis; former First Lady of Massachusetts, the late Kitty Dukakis; the late Dr. Arnold Relman, former Executive Editor of the New England Journal of Medicine; the late Stuart Altman, health advisor to President Clinton and Professor at Brandeis University; former Massachusetts State Senator, Lois Pines; Dr. Howard Koh, former Massachusetts Commissioner of Public Health; the late Dr. Bernard Lown, noted cardiologist, Founder of the Lown Institute, and Nobel Peace Prize winner; and many more.
Your Health Care:Choice or Chance? also aired on the award-winning radio station, WATD, 95.9 FM, in Marshfield, Massachusetts, and was a call-in show, with many of the same guests listed above.
I am also the author of the book, Ellen In Medicaland:True Stories of How I Fell Down Medicine's Black Hole And Still Lived After All, on Kindle, which talks about my wild and crazy experiences at a Harvard-teaching hospital. It is hilarious and you will laugh with tears in your eyes, wondering how many of these doctors ever graduated from medical school.
You can also watch my one-woman show, Just What The Doctor Ordered, on youtube, which talks about two of my horror stories from my book. Very Halloweenish and again, you will laugh with tears in your eye.
