I am a first year student currently living in Athens, Georgia. I chose to continue my education as a Fashion major at the University of Georgia's college of Family and Consumer Sciences. I chose to attend the University of Georgia because the university has a very strong Fashion Merchandising program.

I was born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi and lived there all my life before moving to Athens. I come from a small town and have one older brother and two dogs that I adore: a chihuahua and a lab mix.

In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling new places. I like to run, swim, fish, hike, bicycle, play tennis, and badminton outdoors. I prefer warmer temperatures so that I am able to truly enjoy the outdoors.

I also love to be creative in several different ways. I love to paint, color, design, craft, and decorate. I love any type of craft or design project and am always interested in learning new skills.

When I am not spending time outdoors or using the creative side of my brain, I enjoy traveling. I love to travel to big cities and pretty beaches. Hopefully one day I will have a career in the fashion industry that will allow me to travel to and explore big cities in the U.S. and Europe.

A semester of Business Communication: New Skills and New Accomplishments!

This semester of Business Communication allowed me to engage in several projects that greatly improved my ability to communicate in the business professional world.

The most extensive project of Business Communications was the Community of Leaders project. I had the opportunity to collaborate with 3 other students to launch a business plan to create awareness for Books for Keeps, a local nonprofit focused on promoting literacy for school-aged children. We were able to demonstrate our skills learned in the course by creating visuals, business letters, and a final report.

I also had the opportunity to demonstrate personal skill in my international business report showcasing France. Through research I was able to learn a great deal about the country while improving my communication skills.

I am grateful for a wonderful semester of Business Communication and look forward to what my academic future holds.
