Ellen Walsh Nielsen

Born in 1960 as the third daughter in an Irish/Italian family of seven children. Sacred Heart grade school, Glenbard East High School, Lewis University for BA, Accounting.

Known for hard work, I was one of the first girl caddies at Glen Oak Country Club, where I had to get my ears pierced so the golfers would know I wasn't a boy. Purchased a fake ID so that I could get a job at Burger King as soon as I turned 15. Never used it for beer, wasn't that a shame?

Ran a landscape company for many years, raised two children, followed by MBA, University of Chicago. Jumped into corporate world, loving the new chapter.

Currently working as independent consultant, specializing in providing Interim CFO Services for distressed companies. I love the challenge and the opportunitiy to make a difference when it really matters.

I've helped a $15 million dollar construction distribution company in cash flow turmoil get to a sale. Employees kept their job, owners got employment contact. Nice ending to a tough situation.

I've helped a specialty food distributor navigate workout, gaining bank cooperation to bridge to a sale. New ownership kept entire team. 90 jobs, all with families, it does make sense.

Worked to set up finance team at Food Manufacturing Company after new company purchased out of Bankrupcy. Established weekly reporting, established controls, renegotiated vendor terms, cleaned up receivables and re-organized GL to meet the required reporting structure at parent company.

Let me help you. Give me a chance, we can make it work together.
