When I was 17, most of my friends were deciding to be doctors or zoologists. I decided after reading the hippy book ‘Spiritual Midwifery’ that I wanted to be a midwife. Five months ago i moved from the UK to live in New Plymouth, New Zealand, a tiny town wedged between the Tasman sea and a ludicrously symmetrical mountain.

It turns out Kiwi babies do come out the same way, so i’m getting on with being a midwife very nicely.

In three months, i'm flying to Slovenia to start a cycle tour which will continue East to China, which i'm doing with three tall, male cyclists. I blog about midwifery, travel and the outdoors.
