Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

I am an American entrepreneur making travel more immersive for travelers and more beneficial for developing communities. After graduating college, I moved to Rio de Janeiro to run Favela Experience, a travel social enterprise I founded. We offer immersive homestays and apartment rentals for travelers in Rio de Janeiro's favelas, generating sustainable income for favela families. Recently, we successfully crowdfunded over $31K and earned features in The New York Times, Forbes, Lonely Planet, and NextBillion.

Previously, I was a Program Associate in Brazil for impact investment fund Village Capital, consulting at educational technology startup QMágico. As President of SEED, I also managed 75 consultants simultaneously advising international social enterprises ranging from Ashoka in Egypt to a $20M microfinance institution in Mexico. I graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Commerce and second major in Latin American Studies from the University of Virginia.
