Francisco Ayala.

Francisco Ayala is a representative of the Marca País, a project created under Resolution No. 1372/08.

After working for major fashion brands, in 1999 he opened his own-label store in the city of Buenos Aires, and created his fashion web site. That same year, he became fashion columnist for Hola Mujer – Lycos portal site.

From the beginning, Francisco Ayala’s work reflected his interest in Pre-Columbian culture and iconography. His designs have been exhibited at the Museo Nacional de Antropología y Pensamiento Latinoamericano and the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, and have graced catwalks in Buenos Aires and other Latin American cities since 2001.

In 2003, Swarovski AG from Austria entrusted him with the Ceibo and Vaca designs for its Crystal Mesh pattern, which were shown at the Itinerant Collection in Paris, New York, and Tokyo.

His designs have made the cover of the leading magazines, and his work has been included in a book styled Historia de la Moda Argentina.

As a costume designer, he has worked both for ballet and dance productions, including Amaduo, where he designed the costumes of Cornejo and Corella’s American Ballet Theatre stars, in New York City, and those of Julio Bocca, while performing for the Ballet Argentino.

TV productions: Costume designer for Diego Maradona TV show La Noche del 10, Canal 13, and Generación Pop, Solo Tango, with tango singer María Volonté.

Video clip productions: Costume designer for Julio Iglesias’s Album Divorcio.

He is currently working on costume design for Juan Moreira, to be performed by the Ballet Folklórico Nacional, and Amutai, by the Ballet Contemporáneo Nacional.
