Eloise Henry

Student

  • Hi, I am Eloise Henry. I have 7 generations of family members that go to the University of Texas at Austin including my brother and cousins who are current students. Along with that I have 5 generations of Pi Beta Phi sorority members that proudly share this status. My lifelong dream was to follow in these footsteps and continue the legacy. I worked diligently in high school and in all aspects of my resume to ensure my acceptance into the university. I applied with confidence my senior year of high school and even had a roommate before the time Texas would release their acceptances. I visited regularly and was in love with the school I would soon attend. On the third day of releases, I opened my portal to find that I had humbly been denied. I was shocked and could not come to terms with the news. I immediately appealed the denial and continued to only consider the one school I desired. Randomly on a Thursday in April, I decided to visit the University of Georgia because I had been accepted months before and resolved that I needed a backup. Within one hour of my tour, I completely changed the direction of my planned-out course for the future. During this tour, I was accepted into the University of Texas at Austin. Without a single thought I denied the offer and accepted my admission to a school 854 miles away from home in Athens, GA. I am now an Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Georgia following in no one's footsteps and the happiest I have ever been.
