I am a student at the University of Delaware where I am a double major in Accounting and more recently Fashion Merchandising. I enjoy the creative and expressive side of fashion paired with the practicality of numbers. My days are not complete without a large cup of coffee, a great outfit, and a big smile. When I am not in school I enjoy dancing and working with children. Dance has been a major part of my life since I was three years old and I currently participate in ballet, tap, and jazz classes and serve as an assistant dance instructor. For the past three summers I have been a camp counselor and have attempted to improve my kickball skills in the process. I enjoy forming relationships with the campers and their families and I am very proud of any positive impact I have on their lives. In the future I hope to combine my enthusiasm for fashion, business knowledge, and people skills to become a successful buyer and valuable employee and team member. I am very interested in the bridal industry and hope to make that a focus of my future career. I was recently hired by David’s Bridal as a customer service representative. I hope to use this experience as an entry into the bridal industry and a teaching tool combined with my borderline unhealthy obsession with Say Yes To The Dress. I think that fashion is an important part of everyone’s life. A great outfit can completely change the outlook on your day and clothes can elicit an emotional response in people. My favorite purchase to date is a black Kate Spade trench coat, in my size, and on clearance. The purchase actually brought me to tears. While the story is a bit embarrassing it reflects my philosophy and my belief that fashion is importan. It’s a powerful industry full of intelligent, creative, and business savy women and men who have an influence on everyone’s life. I hope one day to be one of those influencers.
