Eloy Calso
Project Manager, Volunteer, and Teacher in Madrid, España
I was born in Madrid in 1977, the year that Spain was transitioning to a Monarchy and there was a lot of political activity. This transition was the first project I lived through and probably the most important until now.
I am the youngest of 4 siblings. We are very close in age and I learnt many things from them during childhood like team work. My parents ran their own business, they sold cleaning products to neighbourhood associations located in Madrid. They worked hard and I remember helping them in the store after school, preparing the orders to be delivered the next day. I followed the processes and guidelines my father had designed. This guided me on my path towards the study of Industrial Engineering Science.
My parents taught me how important it is to be true to one´s principles, to one´s self, and to one´s moral compass. Because of their mentoring, integrity is one of my values.
Among my large family and friends, I have a lot of support. Marriage and children await me in my future.
I am a positive person and I find joy in learning, sports, nature, reading and music. I sing Gospel songs in a Choir and I volunteer as a Project Manager for the development in the PMI-Madrid chapter. I like interpersonal relationships and people who smile. One of my goals is to achieve a healthy balance between one´s business or professional life and one´s personal life.
I am an Industrial Engineer and PMP ® certified. My background has been developed in the automotive, railway, oil & gas and renewable sector. I like projects with changing conditions and dynamic people.
