I graduated in Chemical Engineering in 2001 and started my PhD studies in Biotechnology, where I developed work with mouse embryonic stem cells (ESCs) in an “engineering” perspective, i.e. I studied how to optimize cells growth in bioreactors.
In 2006, I started my post-doctoral research activities. Initially, I developed work in the field of neural differentiation. More recently, I started working on self-renewal and pluripotency regulation of ESCs and I have become interested in understanding how gene regulatory networks are assembled and how they function to sustain proper cell fate decisions.
