Elsa Loftis

Elsa Loftis is a librarian at Everest College in Portland Oregon. She is also an on-call librarian at Portland Community College. She is also currently working as the website coordinator for NW Central (www.nwcentral.org), which is a continuing education site for librarians in the Pacific Northwest. Through this position, she acts as liaison to the Oregon Library Association's Executive Board. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Answerland (formerly L-Net), which is Oregon's statewide virtual reference service.
She received her M.L.I.S. degree at the Pratt Institute in New York, NY in 2009. Before that, she received her undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon in International Studies and Political Science. She also holds a Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate from the INTESOL, in Prague, the Czech Republic.
Her professional interests include reference, instruction, and emerging technologies.
She loves to travel, and has lived abroad in Belgium, Denmark, Thailand, Italy and New Zealand. When she's not in the library, she's home with her husband, son and dog.
