Emanuel Kopstein

An entrepreneur, philanthropist, and retired attorney with more than four decades of professional achievements, Emanuel Kopstein currently splits his time between several projects in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. A former resident of Minnesota, Mr. Kopstein earned his B.A. in History and Psychology, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, where he was elected President of the Honorary Student Leadership Fraternity. From there, Emanuel Kopstein completed his J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School, passed the Minnesota Bar Exam, and began a prolific career in law, finance, and entrepreneurship.
In San Francisco in the 1970s, Mr. Kopstein founded and ran TransGlobal Marketing Corp., through which he marketed and distributed U.S. and European-made outdoor sports equipment to consumers in the United States and Japan. In tandem with his work at TransGlobal, Emanuel Kopstein served as President of TGM Sports, a winter sports wholesaler and trade show organizer with a strong presence on the West Coast. Since then, Mr. Kopstein has launched a number of successful endeavors in San Francisco and Marin County, including Dynamite Summer Baseball Camps and L’Chaim House, two non-denominational assisted living homes located in San Rafael. Managed hands-on by his wife Cary and with a focus on Jewish culture and traditions, Emanuel Kopstein and L’Chaim House provide a wide range of social, cultural, and spiritual services and activities in a comfortable, supervised care environment with a high staff-to-resident ratio.
Noted for his work in the philanthropic arena as well, Mr. Kopstein founded the Grants for Good Foundation, where he helps direct funding to a number of worthy charities in the Bay Area. Among these, Emanuel Kopstein and Grants for Good have supported Drawbridge, Mission Graduates, the California Parenting Institute, the Children’s Nurturing Project, and Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County.
