The previously mentioned program "fundamental principles" is the first topic that music theory deals with. This section is very important since it is a prerequisite for other entries in music theory. The basic principles of rhythm, notation, intervals are some of the phrases that are examined in this foundational theory. In the last few decades, the books on the fundamental theory of music in Iran are summarized into two popular books, the fundamental theory of music by Parviz Mansouri and the book Basics of Music by Kamal Portrab.
