Emanuel Salvador

Described by the Strad Magazine as “one of the finest Portuguese violinist of his generation”, Emanuel Salvador has already performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the U.K. Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Holland, Mexico, Brazil, Ukraine, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Germany and Malta. He has been awarded several prizes such as: first prize at Isolde Menges (RCM) and Beckenham Festival competitions; Barbirolli Memorial and Wolfson Foundation Award; second prize at Jovens Músicos competition; Honours Mention at Júlio Cardona International Competition - Portugal; Gulbenkian Foundation Scholarship (2000-2003); Instituto Camões Grants (2008-2009). Emanuel has studied in Portugal (Artave Professional School) and in London (Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Royal College of Music). As a concerto soloist Emanuel has played with Artave, Norte, Clássica da Madeira; Voronezh Symphony; Çukurova State Symphony, Sinfonica UANL, Camara de Morelos and Mexican Radio Chamber Orchestra; Sinfônica da Bahia; Dnipropetrovsk Symphony, Bialystok, Lublin, Sudecka, Opole, Kalisz and Mloda Philharmonics; Rotterdam Ensemble, Orchestra da Camara Fiorentina, Nonesuch, Newbury Symphony and Nuova Amadeus orchestras. From 2005 to 2014 Emanuel was the concertmaster of Orquestra do Norte in Portugal and since 2015 is the concertmaster of Baltic Neopolis Orchestra in Poland.
