Embry Blue

California born and New York raised, Embry Blue is a self taught multi-media artist. Her dolls & creatures are in between; sculpture, dark horrible fascinations, dark enchantments, ghostly story telling and dream interpetations. Embry builds her visions with mysticism, the manufacture and tranferance of a strange world of little beings. These beings are other realm appreciations and creatures pulled from inspirations of the ever shifting dimensional beauty found in the inner mind. A world she explores while she working as a makeup artist transforming people into their desired alter egos/transformations.

Embry gained an appreciation for structure, ritual, formality, and honor of fine details while she worked at a funeral parlor in San Francisco. She also expressed her art as a performance artist where she discovered the importance of self expression through face and body movement. In her performances she built ellaborate costumes to inhance the emotional expression through the body as well as creating an new visual world for the audience to engage.

Embry naturally pulls from the channeling qualities reminescent of shamanism, holding the ability to transcend into the animal’s spiritual energy. Aside from her personal works, she often collaborates with other artists.

She currently lives and works in New York City.
