"There is a love in the universe far greater than you can imagine.
Open your vessel to receive it."
I know, I know —this has been hard for me to trust as well. I am
type-A through and through... In fact, I've spent most of my life on
a kind of hamster-wheel: striving for control and accomplishment.
Can you relate?!
Then I found yoga, and it really did change everything.
Yoga is always a peak experience for me. It's one of the times I
feel alive. The pilot of my path. I get in a wonderful, ecstatic
flow state, and I try to keep myself that way 24/7. Over the course
of 3 years, I learned to expand the hour I had on the mat into my
daily life.
But releasing my crazy ballerina and GPA rat race habits was hard!
The me before yoga pushed and pushed until burnout and injuries. I
was never enough, never had enough, and needed a 'night cap' to fall asleep and a dose of sugar to wake up. Changing these habits was like re-wiring my DNA. With time, a year of travelling, journaling,
and a heck of a lot of yoga, I started inhaling to open doors and
exhaling to close them.
That's when I realized everything I need is right here, right now,
and all the answers are within. Peace isn't just for monks in the
mountains. You don't have to touch your toes.
Just know this: there is a love in the universe far greater than you
can imagine. Open your vessel to receive it.
So, darling, let's get to work, baring ourselves on the mat.
I look forward to seeing you in class.
Love,
Em
