Emily Gordon

Hello! I'm an all-around content/media/editorial person and liker of puns. I'm also writing a tragicomic memoir set in New York, Chicago, Buffalo, and peculiar corners of the web.

Since 1994, I've written features, profiles, and reviews about books, theater, design, and TV. In 2004, I founded Emdashes, a New Yorker fansite that won a Webby honor and evolved into a broader-themed, multi-contributor culture magazine.

Résumé tidbits: In 1996, I helped build The Nation magazine's first website and have been dedicated to digital and traditional platforms ever since.

As the editor of Print magazine, I administered a site relaunch, established and created the brand's social media presence, and governed the National Magazine Award-winning print edition. I've also been on the web and/or editorial staff of The Washington Spectator, Newsday, PEN America, Legal Affairs, Mamm, and Grand Street.

Additional items: I like online and IRL communities; content and social strategy; lindy hop and mentorship; and brainstorming ways to match good ideas with the people who can make them.
