Ugwu Emeka Benjamin

Emeka, Benjamin Ugwu is an entrepreneur, educator and communication relation strategist with special interest in small and micro business growth. He joined Central Bank of Nigeria’s South-South entrepreneurship Development Centre (SSEDC) in 2015 as a marketing communication specialist where he has supported the creation and expansion of several enterprises that resulted in 11,250 jobs.

He is the Founder & Lead Partner of Funding Desk (www.fundingdesk.org) – where he leads a dynamic team of young Nigerians to provide linkages to budding entrepreneurs, start-ups and existing enterprises with access to finance. Through FundingDesk, he has engaged and supported thousands of individuals with unique business ideas to access suitable financial support to bring their ideas to reality.

As part of his community contribution, he co-founded Redwood Leadership Initiative (RLI), with focus on leadership and career development, life coaching and business mentorship, nation building, and educational development. At Redwood, he served as the Lead partner for PROJECT 2031 - a nation building platform to raise national leaders poised with a desire to work and to make positive impact. Through this, the strategy is to develop blue-prints to enrich government policies, prepare platforms to improve citizenship participation and to maximize agents of socialization to reconfigure value system. He leads a growing network of over 75 active team members across Nigeria and regularly engages more than 300 volunteers.

Emeka is a certified Finance for Development Specialist from World Bank Learning Institute and holds a Business Skills Competency Certificate from London School of Business & Finance. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDE) in Education from Nigeria Teachers Institute, Kaduna and Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Nigeria.
