For the whole of my working career I was working as a PA, until two and half years ago I was given the opportunity to train within a HR department for a manufacturing company... Little did I know that this was going to change my career path forever, and Ive never looked back.
Embarking on retraining, and studying for a new career in HR has been the most exciting and rewarding decision I have made. I decided to train with BPP Business School in London, to undertake my CIPD CPP on an intensive short course...... and my HR Journey has started from there.
As a 'people's person', HR is definately the place to be. I love being able to feel that I have helped someone whether it be job related or personal. HR gives you the 'buzz' in your working life as no two days are the same, and with legislation changing constantly there is always something to learn. I am a great believer in continuing with your learning whether it be academic or something that just interests you. One of the most rewarding aspects of HR is Learning & Development. Planning and Delivering Training is one of my passions, as I truly believe that it can be life changing...... Look at me :-)
When I come home and take my 'HR Hat' off I like nothing more than to spend time with my family. We live opposite some great river side walks. There is nothing like wrapping up warm, and taking my two dogs out with my Daughter and Husband for a stroll. Myself and My Husband also enjoy going to london for weekend breaks, to do some shopping, fine dining and sit in bar with a glass of wine and watch the world go by......
One of my biggest passions is 'Salsa'. I have danced latino for 12 years, and have also instructed upto intermediate level. I find it very hard to go in restaurants and keep still if they are playing latin music.... and constantly get told off by my daughter.
As a family we are fairly fit and all have membership at the local gym where we try to get shed the calories consumed during our week.... and just for good measure I enjoy a Zumba Class (see I really am Latin mad!)
