Emilia Badstue Valbum is a Danish government affairs executive with over 15 years of experience in commercial diplomacy, trade policy, and global public affairs. She currently serves as Head of Commercial Diplomacy and Trade, Global Government Affairs at 3M Company, based in Washington, DC.

Her professional background includes roles as Chief of Staff to a Member of the European Parliament, positions within multiple Danish governments, and a global public affairs role for a multinational consumer brand. These experiences have provided her with extensive exposure to national and international government affairs across Europe and the United States.

Emilia began her career in the media sector, developing skills in strategic communication and speechwriting before transitioning into policy-focused government affairs roles in Brussels and Washington, DC. She has lived in more than six countries and brings a cross-cultural perspective to her work.

She holds a master’s degree in political science and is fluent in five languages.
