Fun loving hard worker living in Everett, Massachusetts. Passionate about the environment and incredibly driven. Starting off on the road to becoming a registered nurse, and loving it so far.
As a lover of medicine, health care, and above all helping people, I have set out to become a successful health professional. Though it took time for me to realize that becoming a nurse was what I [have] wanted, I always work incredibly hard for that which I want and love, and in moving forward with nursing certainly strive to [continue to] do so. With having earned a degree in anthropology I was prepared to engage in international health and policy, hoping to work face-to-face with people on the matter of health wherever the wind brought me. Interestingly enough, not long after spending time in such a realm did I ascertain that my heart lay in working less on policy and more on people, which has brought me to working toward a career in nursing; my passion for living life and assisting others fuels me, and that which I’ve accomplished thus far has helped me find the path I belong on.
While my goals and actions have changed, I still hold conservation and environmental policy close to my heart. Hail social media for the sake of virality, which allows for the acts and efforts of grassroots organizing, such as my former stomping ground of Greenpeace, to continue reaching for its ever-increasing potential, whether that be through petitions, phonebanking or a flashmob (or two). Causes.com remains just one of a number of resources I love to use in my (in my opinion) one-step-at-a-time efforts to raise awareness and bring about change through something as simple as an online petition; some other greats are change.org, care2.com and moveon.com!
