Emilie Mecklenborg

Social Media Manager in Commerce Charter Township, Michigan

My name is Emilie and my role is to create community and experiences around a brand. I create content which excites, then I share it across social media and other virtual networks where your target talent lives. In my day job I help job seekers get to know your organization, because I create an engaging first (or fifth) impression in the digital world, while growing their belief in your mission statement and showcasing your corporate culture. I help differentiate your organization from all your competitors.

How do I do this? Sharing content: Infographics, interactive media like livestreams, podcasts, vlogs, follower (or user) generated content, imagery, lists, news bits and stories. I share what life is like at a company, tell stories of employees in their personal & professional lives which drives awareness of an organization but also helps with retention of your current employees. When I run out of content, I repurpose content because you know what.. 75% of my peers do this as well, because we get to re-engage and utilize content from a different perspective because we learned through the responses the first time that people liked that content.

Why is this important? Because studies show that job seekers are using social media to research your organization. They use between 10-18 different channels to research you, but social is where they spend the most time because they can engage with your brand.we humanize your employee value proposition. Those jobseekers are looking at your current employees on Twitter & LinkedIn, they are looking at your HQ, maybe your corporate culture on Facebook & Instagram, they enjoy employee testimonials/stories on YouTube, and they are looking at how fun you can be on Snapchat. People enjoy the human interaction they receive when they trade comments, or we retweets or share their posts. Your organization gets a better hire because of my efforts, because they know what day to day life is like at your company and this helps them ‘opt in’ from day one.
