Emily C. Plauché was born and raised in Louisiana, where Creole and crawfish are synonymous with culture and “the Big Easy” is a way of life. After having obtained an Accounting degree from LSU, she left for London where she acquired a Masters degree in International Security with an emphasis on reconciliation and justice after genocide. Although she knows how to be an accountant, she isn't one at heart; her true passion is for people in her community and the world beyond. After obtaining her Masters degree in London she backpacked around India and Southeast Asia building on previous volunteering experiences in countries throughout Africa and Asia, sat under the teachings of the Dalai Lama and worked at Mother Teresa's Khaligat Home for the Sick and Dying. After returning to the United States she moved to Charlotte where she worked first as an auditor in the Banking and Capital Markets industry with PwC and then transitioned into the nonprofit industry where she currently works as the Accounting Manager for Girls on the Run International, serves on various community Boards of Directors and serves as Treasurer for Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts.
