Listen to my music

Hi! I'm Emily Graham!

I’m a student composer at Syracuse University with a love for all things pop, rock and electronic. I was born in Falls Church, VA, and although I’m currently based in Syracuse, NY, I bounce back and forth between the Washington D.C. area and Upstate New York.

As a composer, my main passion is to create evocative conceptual and programatic music, and I also have a special interest in scoring for film and tv. Friends and colleagues have described my music as similar to Howard Shore and Hans Zimmer, and they are some of my biggest influences. I’m always working to further expand my knowledge of both modern music and music history so I can better emulate and experiment with the styles and genres I love.

As a collaborator, I’m a lot like a graham cracker in s’mores; I work to serve as a vehicle that creates a perfect union of many different ideas and tastes so that everyone will have an enjoyable experience. Helping another creative’s idea come to fruition is always an incredibly inspiring experience for me, and scoring for short films has given me the opportunity to do just that with amazing creators in the entertainment industry.

Something I’m currently working on is learning more about blending electronic and acoustic music, as I’m absolutely obsessed with Ben Frost’s stellar score from the Netflix show Dark.
